XP Printer-related problem

Perhaps this should go to an HP NewsGroup - is there such a thing?

I'm trying to help a friend who has visual problems. He just got a WinXP computer (he had Win98 before). He has an old HP printer/scanner/copier combo. When he first tried to hook it up to the XP an HP tech person on the phone said it wouldn't work with XP. But he kept trying on his own and finally got it installed and working. However, now it prints in reverse order, i.e pages 3-2-1 rather than 1-2-3 as it did with his Win98 printer. I have an HP printer (not a combo) myself that gives the option of reversing that order, but he said he didn't have to choose an option previously to print 1-2-3. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or other NewsGroup where I can find help for him?
