Re: Two issues to resolve

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

With regard to the svchost.exe issue, C:\Windows is a common location for
trojans, etc. to implant a phony version of svchost.exe. Probably, you have
cleaned out the offending programs, but there is still a registry entry
which tells Windows to start the now nonexistent program. So, try this:

1. Start/Run regedit ENTER

2. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

3. In the right pane, if you see an entry for svchost.exe, right click on
it and select Delete.

4. If don't find it in #3., try going to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

As to the SIS Port driver - I'm not sure what this is. My guess would be
that it is a motherboard chipset or integrated peripheral driver. If your
computer did not come with a driver CD, or you don't have it, try going to
the manufacturer's web site and see if they have driver downloads for your
model. Failing that try to identify your motherboard - you may be able to
get drivers from the manufacturer's web site. If you do a search on
google.com, you should be able to find resources which can help you identify
the motherboard and/or SIS device. Failing that, you can go to www.sis.com,
but you really need to know exactly what you are looking for. Check Device
Manager to see if it shows any devices that are not functioning properly.
