Two issues to resolve

Issue 1 - I have WinXP Home SP2. When I turn on the laptop I get a window
with a Red circle with an "X", it says it cannot locate svchost.exe in
C:/Windows. I checked and I have this file in 2 places. place
#1.-c/windows/system32 and place #2.-c/windows/servicepackfiles/i386,
14kb each place. What if I copy the file and install it into c/windows...
will this stop the alert message that wants to find it in c/windows? Or, what
else would you recommend?

Issue 2 - Again, when turning on the laptop I get the Hardware Wizard"
wanting to install the SIS PORT DRIVER. I tried to do this through Device
Manager and it says there either is no driver installed or it doesn't need
one. Apparently its looking for something that's causing the message to
appear. I can't get it to reinstall from the system harddrive files or from
the internet or rollback and I don't have a winXP cd. So, I disabled it in
Device Manager, the message stopped on boot up and things seem to be working
fine with it in the disabled state. This doesn't feel like the right way to
fix this problem. What do you think happened? I read where one of the above
issues (not sure which one) might be the result of a previous windows update
file. Hope you can help a person who knows only enough to be dangerous with
computers.
Thanks in advance,
Beaner
