### I can't do all these things you recommend because the software is
either expensive (registry mechanic) or I'm told I have something MISSING
from my PC such as a missing "pattern LPT$SUPN" file. I couldn't locate it
to download and install. I'm running WXP-Home Sp1. I hated SP2 and deleted
it long ago. Also,.. the trial version of Registry Mechanic claims it found
463 problems in the registry. Now I never used a registry cleaner on the
ADVICE on the people on these MS NGs. Can you recommend a FREE easy to use
registery cleaner? I use RegCleaner on my old W98SE computers.
Crap Cleaner cleaned out a bunch of "crap." :-)

### Norton, updated daily, finds no infections. Ad-Aware, Hi-jack This and
Spybot found nothing. Microtrend Housecall ran and found nothing! BHOD
found nothing. CWS shredder found nothing........

Now trying to use the I.E6 address bar *LOCKS UP* I.E even when there's a
website in it, not just "BLANK." I am now totally unable to use the address
bar to select a past URL or to type one in and hit GO. Any other
suggestions?

I just did a scandisk and defrag a few days ago.
