If you installed it on 2 computers, you have violated the EULA you agreed.
One license, one computer, the way it has always been with consumer
Microsoft operating systems since at least Windows 95.
If you want Windows XP on two computers, you need to buy two.
This did not cause your current problem, but it probably will prevent you
from activating when you do resolve the problem.
Buy another and perform a Repair Installation:
