Re: Virtuel Memory

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Virtual memory is best 'managed' by XP, which is the default setting
anyway..

Re. troubleshooting.. it all depends upon what you want to troubleshoot.. I
can't give a recommendation for any program suite that claims to monitor and
fix problems.. they can cause more problems than they often fix..

XP has native tools already.. e.g Disk Clean, Defragmenter..

Spyware and Malware require specific programs..

Adaware 1.06.. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

.... and this link is for the latest Microsoft helping..

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Spyware Blaster 3.4.. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/

All of these have to be downloaded and then updated..

Ensure that you have a reputable firewall and anti-virus program in place..
choice is up to you.. personal preference, cost, aesthetic appeal make the
choice subjective.. I run McAfee 8 suite.. it works for me but not for
some..

Another list for you..

http://www.mcafee.com.. firewall and/or antivirus
http://www.symantec.com.. firewall and/or anti-virus
http://www.zonealarm.com.. firerwall
http://www.kerio.com.. firewall
http://www.sygate.com.. firewall
http://www.avast.com.. anti-virus
http://www.grisoft.com.. anti- virus

There are others.. do a Google search for more results..
