USB Printer Sharing

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi All,

I have just come across a problem with trying to share a piggybacked USD
Epson Photo RX600 over a Domain network.

It used to be fine shared on one other users PC, but then I was asked to
come in and add it to another. When I ran the Add Printer Wizard, I looked
for in in the Directory and attempted to connect to it. Immediately it asked
for a user name and password - I entered the Domain Administrator Name and
Password and it comes up wit han error - "Windows cannot connect to the
Printer. Operation could not be completed". This is also happening on the
original users PC's who initially printer fine to this printer.

I've tried re-installing it, I've tried every combination of User ID that
exists on the original sharing PC and I've even installed the printer on
another machine, but every computer you try to connect to it gets asked for a
User ID and Password (Even from the Domain Controller running SBS2003).

I've run virus scans on all PC's on the network (CA's etrust antivirus with
latest sig files) and it appears to be clean.

I've also run the Beta MS AntiSpyWare on the two machines in question and
again appear to be clean.

Is ther esome underlying virus that put and end to sharing anything on this
network that eTrust can resolve or have I just gone mad!

Any/All help very much appreciated.
TIA
Griff
.
