Windows XP has "Families" of CD types, Retail, OEM and VLK
(Volume License Key, sometimes referred to as Corporate XP).
Keys are designed to work only with the matching CD-ROM type.
If your system has a complete i386 folder, which many OEM's
place on the System Partition it is possible to build an installation
CD. It will not be bootable, but you can download and use a set
of XP Boot Floppies to initiate the install and transfer the install
process to the i386 folder on the CD-R disk. The i386 folder will
have ~520+ Megabytes of content, containing 5000 or more files
and sub-folders. This number will vary depending on how the
OEM has modified the content.
