If you have the option "Launch folder windows in a separate process",
Windows will launch explorer.exe as a high priority process. Use task
manager to bump it back down to normal.
This became so annoying for me that I wrote a C++ app to watch for high
priority explorer.exe processes, and bumps them back down to normal. If
anyone wants the source or binary, I will provide them.
