Could be your drive is going flakey- some bad sectors- or you simply need to
defrag. Hit control- alt-delete and go watch CPU resources- to see if
anything is hogging a lot of resources.
Also- if your hard drive light stays on- does't blink- could be a sign the
drive is in poor health.
