Re: Windows XP locks up when logging off

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry



I have had this problem and found Microsoft KB article 837115 to be right on
the mark. The problem is now fixed.

If you have the symptoms stated in the article, then the User Profile Hive
Cleanup Service is what may well get you out of trouble.
