Dual printers on WindowsXP

I have two printers connected and i'm using Windows XP home edition. The
problem i'm having is that my printers are having a problem communicating.
I'm using new cables and i have the latest drivers installed. Bioth printers
are connected through USB cables. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling
and there is no change. Any ideas on what could be causing my headache?
