Hi to everyone,
Running XP Pro on a stand alone computer at home.
Have been running AVG Anti Virus & PC-cillin for appox 4 months together with no problem. Of course they both upgrade themselves & download new definitions without any help from me on a daily basis. Yesterday AVG started for the first time to scan for incoming email seemingly for no good reason every 2 or 3 minutes. Also as long as the E-mail Scanner part of AVG is active, no incoming email comes in. It event- ually comes up with the message that the server is down. But when I disable the E-mail Scanner part of AVG, everything is 100% fine. I know that PC-cillin does a incoming and outgoing email scan, but would be nice if both programs were working.
One of the two programs evidently upgraded itself to cause this conflict. I tried to post to AVG's questions and answers, but it won't let me in for some reason.
This isn't the end of the world. AVG is working fine in all the other aspects, but I'd like to find the cause of this problem.
Has anyone else run into this problem ?
Don't have two running at the same time. Using a second to do occasional scans is fine though.
