Opererating system is WIN XP Home, computer is Medion M3; I got this computer
recently and the printer worked fine at first; then it started printing only
part of the text, 6 to 10 lines and then fade away.
I often get ..printer failed to print.. and the notation on the printer
LCD ..data remains... I took the printer to the seller and after repairs it
was returned to me with the note that the print head had been replaced
however after re installation it still printed a few lines. I re formatted
the hard disk and put it back to the manufacturer s, got printer driver from
Brother and still the same thing.
I changed USB port nothing doing. I took the printer back to the seller and
they tried it and it worked fine; the two Brohter printers lent to me during
repairs worked fine. I suspect a conflict between my version of WIN and the
printer driver however there is nothing on the Microsoft or Brother sites.
The seller now blames the software and Brother is no help they tell me to
take the printer to a service center but they are as confounded as I am.
Can anybody help with maybe a check list of things possibly creating this
probelm ?
Thank you
