I think that HP Computers have a Recovery Partition but you said you
tried that with no luck. If you have a WinXP CD
you can try a Repair Install. You first have to enter the Bios and set
the cdrom drive as first boot device.
Go here to get further instructions. Pay close attention to Step # 3
