Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

No idea Twanny. Will research on this further. Perhaps a remote assistance sessions might help.

Twanny,

Are you able to launch the firewall configuration interface by typing
firewall.cpl in RUN? If so, then check for the don't load values:
(Yes, was able to launch from here)

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control
Panel\don't load

If firewall.cpl value is present in the right-pane, delete it.
(not present in the two instances - nothing to delete)

I want to point out that when I switched on PC this morning, the SC CP did
not contain any icons in the lower section. I then ran your application
again, and they were restored, NOT however the Firewall Icon. Anymore ideas
before I call Sherlock Holmes? :-)
