win xp user password

I have win xp - recently my PC is asking me for user password!!! none was
ever created! (maybe it's a virus?)
I tried to reset CMOS with a jumper and also by removing the battery - no
help
I tried to reboot in a safe mode: I got 2 options: user or administrator
account - but without a password it will not move on
any suggestions?
