media links not working in IE

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi All,

when surfing with IE and clicking on a link on a web site, the action will
not open Windows Media Player which is my default player for mpgs, mp3s,
etc. When clicking on the link it tries to open another window which just
ends up displaying the "The page cannot be displayed" error. I'm thinking
that there might be some registry entry that might have gone astray. I've
made sure to check all the .dll files to assure all have not been changed
recently. I can use the "save link as" and after downloading the file I can
play it ok. It's just rather annoying to do that instead of clicking the
link and it opening up in the default player by itself. Any help will be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark
