Making own wallpaper based on documents

I have small pieces of paper taped to my monitor that I refer to (a list
typed from Word, a snapshot of the 2005 calendar, etc.). Can I scan these
and put them as my wallpaper so I don't have things taped to my monitor? If
so, how? Can I take the document saved in word and somehow use the document
as a wallpaper?
