MS rules are not the law. What MS wants, and what is the legal are 2
separated and distinct things.

For the most part, if you are using the software for you private
non-commercial use, in other words for you own "fair use," MS, nor any
other copyright owner, possesses the exclusive right to limit your use
of the copyrighted material you buy.

If you are using the XP for commercial purposes, then MS does possess
the right to limit your use, and you should follow their rules. With
OEM WXP, both generic and supplied from OEMs like Dell, MS's rule is
that you cannot move it to an entirely different computer, but never
defines what an entirely different computer is, so you do have some
wiggle room there. Retail WXP may be moved to another computer if it
has been removed from the orginal computer.
