Re: upgrade to XP from 2000 and now i get error message

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

that sounds good steve but i cannot do anything as when i try to load 2000 it
tells me that i am missing the file <windows root>\system32\hal.dll. if i
knew how to either bypass or reinstall this file then i would be able to load
windows and reinstall this missing or corrupt file, I think it has 128 mb of
RAM, well system memory if that is RAM. please please tell me a way round it
