pop ups on desktop

Can anyone help? I am at my wits end, After connecting to the Net and coming
of it, i keep getting anoying pop ups on the desktop and the net itself,
apparently from Windows Messenger and other sources.

I have tried all types of spyware remover, my computer is fully loaded to
the neck with Norton Antivirus, but whatever i try it will not go. Nothing
seems to detect it, not even spybot.

Any Answers will be greatly appreciated?
