Re: Windows Freezes Up

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello Kelly,
Thank you for the prompt reply to my query. I did post to the NG you
suggested.

There is nothing running in the background that wasn't running when I turned
my PC off, on 4/11/05. Here's a list of what is currently running in the
background, from the "Where's James Startup Manager":
smss.exe
winlogon.exe
services.exe
lsass.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
Explorer.EXE
brsvc01a.exe
spoolsv.exe
brss01a.exe
ONETOU~2.EXE
CPBrWtch.exe
realsched.exe
avgcc.exe
rnathchk.exe
avgemc.exe
zlclient.exe
SpySweeper.exe
msmsgs.exe
MSGTAGStatus.exe
schedul2.exe
KEYEXP.EXE
avgamsvr.exe
E_S10IC2.EXE
msoffice.exe
avgupsvc.exe
CDAC11BA.EXE
SAgent2.exe
svchost.exe
vsmon.exe
devldr32.exe
msimn.exe
StartupMgr.exe

Some of these are self-explanatory, some may not be; but I'll try to explain
what each does, if you need it.
Thanks again, Kelly.
