Hi Paul,
A smart card is not the same as your 7 in 1 reader. A smartcard is used as an
alternative login feature. For example, you can use a smartcard to
authenticate
yourself to a network instead of typing your credentials.
Smartcards are also used for authentication to secure webbased banking sites.
To put it another way, a smartcard is used for authentication and your 7 in1
cardreader is used for reading SD, XD cards etc.
