Cloning can be accomplished a number of ways. All of them require
a program capable of Disk-to-Disk cloning. Using this method you
have to physically have the drives installed in the same PC. This can
be a Master/Slave configuration using either the Primary or Secondary
IDE controller. The downside is you'll have to set Jumpers on the
drives & the inconvenience of opening the case and the temporary
installation of the destination drive.
Alternately, if you have an Imaging program, such as Ghost or True
Image you can create an image to a removable media, like a CD-R
set of DVD-R set. Then use the program to restore that image onto
the second drive Actually, this Imaging method has a side benefit as
it allows you to have a permanent image to save away.
