Dial-up connection reporting errors

Quite often, while I am connected to the Internet via a dial-up connection
and check the connection's status, I receive a number of "errors" in the
"Received" column of the "Activity" area in the status dialog box. What is
with these "errors", and is there anything I can do about them?
