autochk command

Hi
As WinXP loads I get the error "utocheck not found. Skipping autocheck".

I have noted that my registry key
BootExecute in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager

has the data value "autocheck autochk *"

but the keys
BootExecute in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Session Manager
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Control\Session Manager
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Session Manager

all have the data value "autocheck utocheck au"

If I add a copy of the autochk.exe file to Windows\System32 and name it
"utocheck" the error disappears but it then takes some 15 seconds to
continue booting presumably while its determining that the parameter "au" is
not recognised or something like that.

It seems there is some corruption here and all the "utocheck au" values
should read "autochk *".
Anyone any ideas how I an clear this problem up?

Many thanks
Nigel Callen
