I doubt there will be any good news. I think you know it's damage to the
motherboard. This wasn't a case of just spilling a little Koolaid on
the keyboard, right? Possibly the children tried to bathe the computer
in the Koolaid? ;-) Aren't you glad these aren't *your* children and
*your* computer?!!
Seriously, you could strip the box down to the basics and certainly you
can find/buy/borrow a usb keyboard/mouse and see if it will boot, but
if it won't boot at all then I guess it's toast. The kids probably
wanted their parents to buy them a new computer.
