When the machine starts up, press the proper key to enter the BIOS. (If you
don't know, post the make and model.) Set it to boot from the CD and then
restart with the CD in the tray.

That sounds really easy The pc is a Tiny model T1440BXM (thats what it says
on the back anyway) I have tried hiting delete to get to setup, which works
and there is something about BIOS there but I don't know what they are. If
you can assist any further I would be obliged. Kazzybee

Simply walk through all the BIOS setup screens until you find a setting that deals with defining which drives can be included as boot devices. You are looking for something that defines the boot drive sequence. You could also read the manual to see if it describes the BIOS settings, or visit the manufacturer's web site for online help (but I've never heard of brand "Tiny" so I can't tell you if they even have a web site). Since you "just bought" the new computer then you should be able to contact the seller to find out where to get BIOS setup information.
