Re: windows installer problem

My XP system developed the same problem. EVER window I open has to be
"installed". I have tried the solutions in the THREE sets of messages here
(significant that this is such a common problem) and ... Let's just say I'm
glad for system restore. Nothing has solved it or the cure is worse than the
ailment.
I ran the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility as recommended by Ramesh; it
does not behave as advertised and proceded to remove whatever it wanted with
no prompts or options.
PS Bear's reference to Kellys-korner tweaks and got nowhere.
I do not understand what Torgeir's site offers. What I am to obtain.
Now I do not even know whether this is an XP problem or an Office 2003
problem -- I ran a fix on Office 2003 hoping to eliminate the problem but it
seemed to make it worse.
Any suggestions?
