System Restore
Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance
For some reason my windows xp sp2 home edition is giving me an error message
telling me it is missing certain files and needs the installation cd. I put
the cd into my cd drive and click retry which only boots the cd and does not
tell me what I need to do. So I figured maybe a sytem restore was in order
which I attempt to do only to be given another error message stating that
"System Restore has been turned of by group policy. To turn on System Restore
please contact your domain adminstrator." I have tried everything I could
think of which isnt alot and have had no luck. I have even tried to install
the sr.inf file only to be told I need the Windows XP Home Edition with SP2
cd in which I have never possesed in the first place since I bought my
computer before SP2 was even out yet. So what gives? Anyone that definately
knows what the problem is or has a good idea about it please please enlighten
me. Thank you~~~Jay
