Thanks, but I'd checked everything before I posted. In the end, I
just gave up and used a different letter (X), which works fine. I
really did want P, which would have been the ideal mnemonic for the
job, but couldn't get it to work.
I've been using keyboard shortcuts to start programs and call up key
files for many years with Win95 (and with 3.1 before that), but I've
found XP Home to be much less straightforward in this respect.
