Last week I had a laptop writing a large amount of data to an external hard
drive. I didn't realize Standby was active because I normally disable it on
every pc I have. How it became active again is a whole new story. Anyway,
while writing the data, the laptop went into Standby and wouldn't recover. I
had to do a restart and now the external hard drive is unusable. Hard lesson
learned.
