RE: My hotmail won't open

Ok I've fixed it :-) :-) :-) hallelujah

I found the answer in this group:

1. Make a new user in windows.
2. Make them an administrator.
3. Log in as new user.
4. go to regedit
5. export the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft windows
\currentversion\intenetsettings to a file in root of C: or somewhere
you can easily get to it from explorer when logged on as problem user
6. log back in as problem user
7. make sure IE isn't running
8. go to regedit
9. delete same key then close regedit
10. find .reg file where you saved it
11. double click to apply it to registry
12. retry hotmail!!!

This should restore the default for the whole of the above key.
I didn't actually create a new user but copied the key from an existing
user for whom the problem didn't exist. I am guessing the above is actually
a better way to do it. You may still need to alter the setting for 'allow
active content in files to run on this computer' in the advanced internet
options...

Warning messing with the reg can seriously bang your pc
