Remote Desktop Connection

Hi there,

two machines with XP Prof SP2 with latest updates, both connected to the
net with ADSL; both are mine, one connects to net through ICS on another
PC which I am Admin of) and the other connects to net through wireless
DSL Router.

I have just "discovered" Remote Desktop Connection as a possibility to
get files from my machine at my office to the one at home when I need
it.

What are the steps for me to have access from the one to the other when
using Remote Desktop Connection? I have read about ports that have to be
opened and so on. With this I am a total beginner and need your help.

I will really appreciate it if someone can give me some direction on
this.
