Remote Desktop & Two Users

I copied and pasted a section of the help file in XP Prof. for “Remote
Desktop” shown here:

“Remote Desktop also allows more than one user to have active sessions on a
single computer. This means that multiple users can leave their applications
running and preserve the state of their Windows session even while others are
logged on.”

How can you have more than one user have an active session? If user one
logs on and disconnects, they are still logged on; if user two tries to log
on, the only way they can get on is if they kick user one off, thereby ending
their active session. Is there another way to have two active sessions?
