Kelly,
Maybe I did not explain clearly. Ok let's start again. I am logging
into WinXP as Administrator. Under Control Panel, I am creating new users by
clicking "User Accounts" and keying in their names. This is done under
Categorical View. While creating new users thru the Categorical View, I would
never have to key in any password for the new users I created. I simply just
keyed in the users' names and after logging off, I would be able to see the
names of the users and the Administrator before I can login.
The problem started when I have switched to Classic View and created
my users through the user accounts icon under Classic View. After I have
switched from Categorical View to Classic View, I would never be able to get
the same prompt I have used to create the new user names(the one not
requiring password as under the easy method in the previous paragraph).
Instead, I got a prompt much like the one in Computer Management->Users and
Groups->New User where a password has to be keyed in for every new user. It
is a dialog box much like in Active Directory User & Computers's New User
addition with the bottom part of the dialog box enforcing users to change
passwords at next logon, never letting the passwords expire, etc.
Despite my switching back to Categorical View after that, every
time I click the User Accounts, I would still get this same prompt. Now I
want back the first prompt, the one under the Categorical View where no
password was required for every user created. The main problem I am facing
right now is that I don't want my users to use any password as I want them to
logon using their names right away without them having to keyin any password
but XP kept on asking for one while I was trying to create a new user. This
has hindered my user addition and I am not able to create any additional user
because of this. Do you know how to get back to the first type of prompt and
do away with the second type of prompt? Any suggestion is appreciated.
