Doug Knox and I have utilities that can give you the security tab on XP
Home. However, both Doug Knox's utility and my utility are 3rd party
solutions (and probably not as stable as Windows' own security tab).
The most stable solution is to do all your acl edits in safe mode.

Doug Knox's solution involves getting an NT4 utility: the Security
Configuration Editor, available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/downloads/recommended/scm/default.asp
This editor was designed for NT4; it does not work as well in Windows XP.


My solution involves getting a utility written by me: Filepermsbox 1.09.
Of course, you'll probably trust me less than Microsoft (and with good reason).
