Having a problem with explorer

I cannot get on the internet, page expired. also connot do a system restore
it can never completes. I believe that I have some kind of virus that is
stopping me. I wish to format C drive where I have XP on and reistall xp on c
and save all my work on drives D and e Question how do I format C drive to
reinstall?
