I agree it isn't ignorance if you are lucky. I changed because I wanted
speed and no more hang ups/stalls when marking news groups as read. For
example when I subscribe to a new news group OE downloads headers and
after reviewing the headers I usually mark the news group as read.
However, OE always hangs and appears to be non responsive on large
quantities of messages; not so with thunderbird. IE requires too many
additional add-ins for pop-up blockers and too many people have created
these self installing search toolbars and not one of these have attached
themselves to Firefox.
