Did you just say that you can copy a file from computer 1 to computer 2,
that you can not see a list of files on computer 2 and can not open the
file on computer 2 from computer 1?

If you can copy it across the network you can open it too.

Do you have simple file sharing enabled?
Do computers have a the same user account and password?
