Is "safe mode with networking" less secure than the normal mode?

Hi,
Is there a security risk (viruses, worms, whatever...) of frequently using
the "safe mode with networking", including using OE, IE... For example I
don't have the time to solve a problem happening in normal mode, but safe
mode works all right, so meanwhile I can continue working with that. Am I
risking of compromising the security of my system by doing so?
Thanks.
