That brings another question.

My desktop is totally clear. Absolutely nothing on it.

I did it by putting all needed icons to quicklaunch and then
removing everything else (even recycly bin) in tweaks.

Thus I don't have my computer on my desktop. The one
appearing in start-menu does not respond to right click and
shows the names of all my drives/partitions.

So how to do it?

---
I have tweaked setting to remove icons from desktop and I
have forgotten about that.
Whenever I create/ move something to my desktop, it does not
appear on my desktop. Somewhere I had seen several things
that should be on my desktop, only that none is visible.
How to make those things visible.
---
Environment variables are indeed visible in
SystemInformation- softwareenvironment - environment variable.
But these are read only. How to change them.
