I use adaware and spybot and mcafee antispyware. Do they detect and remove
malware. As far as the stop messages go some of the codes that i get and
these are the first set of numbers before the numbers in parenthesis are
0x00000024,0x0000000a,0x00000050,0x0000007e,0x000000c5, i also got one the
other day that started with a 1f, i have a paper with all of these numbers
written down at home but i forgot it today. i also received one last week
that said ntfs.sys and i looked it up on the internet and it said to run
chkdsk which i did and now my computer and internet connection are slower. i
don't know if it is a coincidence or what. last week when i sent error
reports to MS i got back a message which said to install service pack 2. I
got that on three occasions, i don't think that would solve all of my
problems and i am afraid to upgrade yet because of all the problems other
people are having. These stop codes appear on start up sometimes, or they
just pop up when i am in the middle of surfing the internet or burning music
and sometimes they appear when the pc is sitting idle for an hour or two. If
these problems keep up i might go back to win98 because i have that on my
daughters computer and i don't have nearly as many problems.
