I think you might be talking about something different. OP was asking " if
this auto update applies to all computers with xp or just to computers that
have the "work arounds". It applies to all computers that run XP.
Whether or not you like the idea, or whether or not you choose to visit the
update site or whether or not you choose to enable auto updating or whether
or not you accept the download manually doesn't alter the fact that auto
update applies to all computers running XP.
