WinDbg is something else. I meant WinDlg and I always copy and paste names so there aren't typos (I used Send To - Clipboard As Name powertoy).
Makle has this habbit of talking wrongly and giving stupid advice if Dos is mentioned. She must have used it as a child or something. If she talks about Dos I'm on to her (you'll spend weeks implementing her advice when the person just needs to change a setting or how they start something). She has done this with you as well (but not weeks as she suggests to some). She just needs to say nothing about things she knows nothing about.
Dos is a hassle. Windlg may need the Dos equiv to fix some things. But if you need the repair features of Windlg or its Dos equiv you should be returning the drive for replacement (I watched people spend MONTHS writing zeros). If out of warranty it should be thrown away.
The Windlg setup does not create a shortcut to the program.
There is no need to run diagnostics at all. The drive runs it's own and tells windows when it is going to be faulty before it is faulty.
1. Do nothing is the reccommended action
2. I like to play. Download Windlg. Install it and it will be where I said before. Play with it. Then go on to more productive things and forget about it.
3. Do whatever you want.
But I note you've wasted time and money on burning a CD.
There is also no reason to run the setup program. Windows can setup the drive all by itself.
