In any case, if that is true, then the primary reason for the ramped up release is because Redmond's underwear is getting munged over the wild success of Firefox, and is now making an attempt to stem its popularity.
They might just make it (Firefox) more popular by rushing our the buggiest version of IE ever with their undue haste.
