I say amen to that. I always use a three step uninstall process.
First, use the uninstaller that came with the program, using the
"customized" option if available (the automatic option is invariably
less thorough). Second, I search my hard drive (making sure the
option to search hidden folders and files is enabled) to look for
hidden program files that the uninstaller may have missed. Finally, I
search the registry for any additional keys related to the program,
and delete them as well. All of this is a pain in the neck. The
uninstall program should give you the nuclear option from the
beginning.
