Hey Aidan,
Its nice to find some with such a remote problem at hand. i have that
proble too with a friends pc. Rick "Nutcase" Rogers doesn't have a bit of
insanity when it comes to the advise he gave you...he's probably right. WE
both should take that into cosideration. I have my discussion group question
on the following (copy&paste):

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx?query=hard+drive+boot&dg=microsoft.public.security.virus&cat=en-us-technet-mssecurity&lang=en&cr=US&pt=&catlist=8A5DE131-410E-42B0-B0DF-8E03DA945FB3%2CA8EA14B8-66CC-48DF-BE4E-C9A88CEAE316&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

Maybe anyone can help me too.
Thanks,
DigitalBIOS
