No error(s) should exist in either System or the Application logs.
There will always be Informational type entries, but are normal.
The process for resolving this is pretty complicated and takes a
fair amount of time.

Do you have a neighbor or friend who is computer literate ?, if
this is due to Symantec I would uninstall it - Return for refund &
get a Free year of eTrust and install Zone Alarm Free on your
system.

I wished I could give you a simple/straightforward solution, but
that just isn't always possible working with PCs.

If I wasn't busy with another Remote Assistance session for a
customer, I'd offer to look at it remotely just to diagnose the error(s.)
for you.
